1. W.M.I.S. students are expected to be polite and respectful to everyone especially teachers, support staff, visitors and their peers. They must ensure to greet them appropriately at any time. A Montfortian’s behaviour towards everyone should always be courteous and well-mannered.

1. Punctuality, regularity and cleanliness are the hallmarks of all well-behaved students. Keep the school campus, especially the classrooms clean and neat and make proper use of the litter bins provided by the school. School attendance is the responsibility of both parents and students.

1. Be truthful and honest at all times, especially during examinations. Do not be afraid or wary of speaking the truth.

1. Take care of all school property made available for your use. Do not cause any damage to a building, furniture, electrical fittings, electronic equipment, computers in the lab, library books, sports utilities etc.
2. If you are found to be the cause of any such damage, you will naturally be required to compensate for the loss in cash or kind.
3. It is expected that the juniors show respect to their seniors and the seniors treat their juniors with affection and care.
4. Treat with care and respect not only the school property but also the property of fellow students.
5. Do not be a bully. If you see someone being bullied you must bring it to the notice of the school authorities.

1. Complete your classwork, homework, projects and other assignments well in time as per the schedule given by your teacher. Any failure to complete these responsibilities will entail a proportionate loss in marks.

1. Your student identity card must be worn properly at all times in such a manner that your identity can be verified by anyone standing in front of you.

1. English being the medium of instruction at Wisdom Montfort, all students are expected to communicate only in English at all times in the school campus and during the school trips.
2. Possession of materials of low moral value (like offensive periodicals, books, objects, CDs, tapes, and so on) is ot permitted inside the school. Chewing gum is also strictly prohibited on school campus. It is Punishable.
3. Students should not indulge in lying, ragging, teasing, bullying, disturbing and distracting the students of the opposite sex, borrowing and taking money from fellow students, making racist comments, indulging in physical violence, fighting with other students, causing serious injuries, bad behaviour, spreading bad rumours, forging a signature, being disrespectful to a teacher, or threatening a teacher etc. These actions will be viewed seriously by the school authorities.
4. Repeated violations of school rules will lead to disciplinary action.

1. The first and foremost priority of every student in school is to study. Any distractions that interferes with this mission should be avoided.
2. Follow the teachers instructions and participate in classroom activities. It is an essential part of the educational process.
3. While teaching is in progress no student should talk, move around or disturb the teacher or other students.
4. Consumption of water or food is not permitted while the class is in progress.
5. It is the responsibility of every student to ensure that the tables and benches are properly placed and that no litter is thrown around the classroom.
6. Students leaving the class on account of illness must take a permission slip duly signed by the teacher in the class, submit it to the school nurse and then get the Principal’s signature.
7. Class prefects must ensure that all windows are closed and lights and fans switched off before leaving the class for outdoor activities and at the end of the day.
8. Movement between classrooms should be done in a disciplined manner. Students must keep to the left when walking in the corridors or climbing the stairs.
9. No student should leave the classroom after every period or loiter in the corridor.
10. Students should not play in the classrooms or the veranda during their break time.

Students are expected to participate earnestly in all activities at school, exception will be granted only in the event of serious illness or emergencies. The Leave Policy of the School is:

1. Every student is expected to be present in the school on the first day of each term till the last day of the term. A minimum of 95% attendance is required for a promotion to the next class.
2. Students will not be granted leave while the school is in session. Students will not be permitted to extend their holidays beyond those listed in the school calendar.
3. The following exemptions may be granted:
   1. Death, life-threatening illness or serious accident suffered by an immediate family member, like parents or siblings.
   2. Student’s own serious illness, determined after consultation with the family physician’s notes.
   3. Students taking competitive or entrance examinations.
   4. Students participating in sports or cultural competitions.
   5. Other emergencies as judged by the Principal.
4. In an emergency, the parent or guardian will have to take prior permission for leave for the student with an application addressed to the Principal.
5. When a student is absent from school, their parent/guardian must call the school on the day of absence and the student must bring an application for leave from the parent stating the cause, and the exact date(s) of the absence upon returning to school and get the leave approved by the Principal before entering the classroom
6. The parent must also enter details of the leave applied for in the leave record section of the student handbook which must also be presented by the student to the Principal for endorsement along with the leave letter.
7. Further, the student must present the approved leave letter and the leave record in the handbook to the class teacher during class time.
8. Continued absence by students for more than 3 days without any information or prior permission will result in appropriate action.
9. Do not plan any long holidays without the prior approval of the Principal.
10. When a student is absent due to illness for 3 or more days, a medical certificate must be brought on the day of return.
11. Work missed during the absence period must be made up. It is the student’s responsibility to approach the respective teachers for missed assignments. Any absence will affect the learning experience and can affect the student’s progress in academics.
12. Time spent outside the school premises for school-sponsored activities is not considered an absence. This includes field trips, excursions, inter-school competitions and school programmes.
13. In an event where the student needs to leave the school during school hours, an exit slip will be issued. The parent/guardian should arrive and report to the School Office to pick up their ward. The student will then be called to the office for early dismissal.

1. The school gate will close at 8.20 AM.
2. Three late arrivals in a month will lead to strict disciplinary action.

1. Attending the school assembly is compulsory for all the students.
2. Students are to maintain a respectful posture during assembly time.
3. Students are requested to cooperate with the student council members on duty.

Students are greeted during the morning assembly on their birthdays.
