About School Emblem
The motto of Wisdom Montfort “Scientia et Sapientia” in Latin means Knowledge and Wisdom. This watchword of our school brings out the Vision and Mission of Wisdom Montfort, a Montfortian School of Excellence. We, at ‘Wisdom Montfort’ will not stop at merely imparting knowledge to the Children in our care – but ensure that the Holistic Education given to them will lead them to the realms of Wisdom.Mere acquisition of knowledge is earthly and has no lasting value.
We invite our students to go beyond the classrooms and learn from nature, trees, flowers, animals, birds, rivers, mountains and oceans. We want the students to be eco-friendly and to cultivate eco-spiritual qualities. The spirituality of Montfortians emanates from the bosom of Mother Earth and it strives to create a sustainable world where all created things live in harmony with each other and move towards a new Heaven and a new Earth! We want our students to fight pollution in all forms and work hard to protect Mother Earth and the Universe, under the umbrella of the five Rs namely, Reduce, Refuse, Repair, Reuse and Recycle. This is represented by the tree of life in the emblem.
Above the circle, we have two letters D & S with the cross between, ‘D † S’. D and S stand for Dieu Seul in French – the watchword of our inspiration and source, St. Louis Grignion de Montfort. It means God Alone and reminds us of what St. Montfort believed and taught through his life, through his preaching and writings. Irrespective of all that we do, it is ‘God Alone’ that must be the focal point of our living and being. The fruit of all our educational endeavors and acquisition of knowledge is wisdom. At the top of the emblem, we have a crown with a three-pronged structure representing the ‘Trinitarian’ dimension of the Almighty who guides and watches over and protects the School, the Children, teachers, parents and collaborators.
